Transferring CHL to Coos County

Transfers are processed as walk-ins, no appointment is necessary, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 08:30am-11:00am and 1:00pm-4:00pm.

Transfers are not processed on Thursdays.

You will need to complete and bring with you Page 1 and Page 2 of the Concealed Handgun License Application, proof of your new address (your Oregon Driver's License is the most common) and your CHL you are transferring to our County. If your CHL has not expired you will need to remit $15.00 (payable to Coos County if in check or money order form, however, we do accept cash, debit/credit-vendor fee) for the address change/transfer. If your CHL has expired you will need to remit $75.00 (payable to Coos County if in check or money order form, however, we do accept cash, debit/credit-vendor fee) for the renewal/transfer. You will be brought into the office for a photo and be issued a CHL at that time.

You need to update your address with Department of Motor Vehicles prior to coming to transfer your CHL. Address change with the DMV can be done using this link: Oregon DMV
