Re-instatement of Gun Rights ORS 166.274

Often times an individual may have something in their past that is on their criminal history that cannot be expunged under the Oregon Revised Statutes.  ORS 166.274 is the process in which an individual can petition the courts to review their past and determine if they meet the criteria to re-establish their gun rights.  Our office cannot give legal advise. Our office will refer you to ORS 166.274 and a private attorney to navigate this process.

The Chief Law Enforcement Office for the arrest or arrest/conviction will have the opportunity to participate in an Order to Show Cause Hearing set before a judge to answer whether he/she either neither approves nor opposes the petitioner's motion.  The District Attorney of the County will also have a voice in this process.
