Community Corrections

Mission Statement

Coos County Community Corrections shall promote public safety by holding offenders accountable and attempting to reduce future criminal behavior through community partner involvement, programming and incarceration.

Core Values

Honesty, Integrity, Respect, Accountability

Adult Parole and Probation

The responsibility of Community Corrections is to supervise convicted adult felons in the community in lieu of holding them in custody and has consistently been an important element of the local criminal justice system.  Coos County Community Corrections' funds are currently used to provide supervision of approximately 600 criminal offenders.  With revenue reductions at all levels of government, we have focused our efforts toward becoming more innovative and incorporating Evidenced Based Practices (EBP) in our approach to dealing with criminal offenders.  This includes cognitive and behavioral interventions, monitoring treatment progress, as well as work crew and jail sanctions.  We believe in a balanced approach that focuses on both accountability and improving the offender's ability to live a crime-free and productive lifestyle.
