Dispatch also provides part time dispatch support to Federal Law Enforcement Officers with BLM and the USFS.   Dispatch transfers medical calls to Bay Cities Ambulance Service, a private emergency medical care provider that responds to medical calls in the Bandon, Coos Bay, and North Bend areas.

Coos Bay Police Department operates our sister PSAP answering 9-1-1 calls and dispatching for the Cities of Coos Bay, North Bend, Coquille, and the Coquille Tribal Reservation.

Two Supervisors, and ten Dispatchers staff the center 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  There are always at least two (2) dispatchers on duty at any given time, and three (3) on during our peak hours.    All of our staff are certified as Telecommunicators and Emergency Medical Dispatchers by the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.   Our newest members started in 2023, but most of our staff have over seven years of experience.  Our most experienced employee has 10 years of dispatch experience!

In 2023 Dispatch took 92,558 calls.  22,988 of those were 9-1-1 calls and the remaining calls were non-emergent in nature calls.  Our center handled over 46,000 calls for service in 2022.
