The Coos Health & Wellness Public Health Department is seeking a Emergency Preparedness Program Manager.  Under the direction of the Public Health Administrator, or their designee, this position coordinates, plans, implements, and evaluates the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) for the Public Health division and Coos Health & Wellness. This position recruits, organizes trainings, and maintains the Medical Reserve Corps. This position may supervise the AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer for the preparedness program. Serves as lead and coordinates other staff and volunteers in their duties specific to the PHEP program and other potential emergency related programs and fundings (Ebola, Zika Virus Disease for example).  Position requires considerable independent judgment, strong communication and program planning skills. This position will be expected to take a major role during a public health emergency and to be an integral part of the Incident Command System.

Bachelor’s degree in community health education, biology or other health related degree, with three years experience in the development and implementation of health programs, with preference for a public health setting, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Master’s degree in relevant field is preferred. Preference may be given to candidates with certificates in ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800.
