Recording Services

The County Clerk's Office records documents that affect title to real property located in Coos County. When a document is received for recording, it is checked for compliance with Oregon recording statutes. If a document cannot be recorded, it is returned to the sender with an explanation of what is wrong. As a document is recorded, an index is created and the image scanned for document retrieval.

To search and print recorded documents from 1972 forward use our Digital Research Room.

We are in the process of indexing documents back to 1965 for electronic retrieval.

If you are having trouble logging into the Digital Research Room you may need to use a different web browser OR clear your cache and/or cookies.

This office is prohibited from:

  • Giving legal advice
  • Helping fill out documents
  • Suggesting what type of documents to use
  • Accepting illegible documents
  • Recording documents other than those specified by Oregon and federal law

The Coos County Clerk's office receives recording through the mail and electronically through eRecording.  All documents submitted must meet all recording requirements and must be the original document.

For information on eRecording Services, see below.

We are prohibited by law from providing anything even approaching legal advice. As a result, we are unable to tell you which form you should use, whether one form is better for your purpose than another, or how you should fill out a form. If you are uncertain about any of these matters, we strongly recommend that you consult an attorney.

If you need help with finding an Oregon attorney, you may visit the Oregon State Bar's Lawyer Referral Service website, or call 503-684-3763 or toll-free within Oregon at 800-452-7636.

Although our office cannot supply or identify which forms you may need to complete your land transaction, you may be able to locate the necessary forms online or at one of the local businesses listed below.  This may only be a partial listing of available locations to obtain forms and is only supplied as a courtesy.
