PARENTS AS TEACHERS

Parents as Teachers is a program to provide parent education to families with children from birth to age 5.

Home visits are offered to help parents learn positive parent-child interaction, child development and coping skills. Practical tips on ways to encourage the child to learn, how to manage challenging behavior, and promoting strong parent-child relationships are offered.

Public Health Parent Educators also provide periodic screening on the child's overall development, language skills, hearing and vision. The program also helps families link with other needed community resources and providers.
