Commission on Children and Families
CCF

OUR PROVIDERS

The Commission on Children and Families receives dollars from the State of Oregon and the Federal Government to reduce juvenile crime, teen pregnancy and the school dropout rate. We are also commissioned to support programs that enhance the lives of young children and provide childcare. The Local Commission determines how these dollars are used based on their assessment of community needs. The idea here is that local people are the best ones to make decisions about programs important to our community.

Our 2009-10 Providers:  CASA, Coos County Health Dept. – Healthy Start, Newmark Family Center – “ Pathways of Positive Parenting” Drug Free Communities Grant:  Teenage Party Dispersal Project, Minor Decoy Project, “Project Toward No Drug Abuse” 12 week Prevention Classes, Media Information for students and parents, Teen Maze, Teen Idol and Youth Summit.
