Paul Frasier is the elected District Attorney for Coos County. A native Oregonian, he graduated from Lakeview High School in 1975. He obtained his Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from the University of Oregon in 1980. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from Willamette University College of Law in 1984.
Paul has been a prosecutor his entire career. He started as a Deputy District Attorney in Josephine County in 1984. In 1990, he and his family moved to Coos County when he became the Chief Deputy District Attorney. Since 1990, Paul has served as the Chief Deputy District Attorney and also as the Special Narcotics Prosecutor and Forfeiture Counsel for the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team.
Paul was appointed by Governor Ted Kulongowski as the District Attorney for Coos County and began that service in 2008. He was elected to his first term that year.
Paul is active in the Oregon District Attorneys Association (ODAA) and the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA). He is a graduate of the Career Prosecutor Course of the NDAA. He has also taught beginning prosecutors on several different occasions at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina.
Paul and his wife Kori are the parents of six children and currently have s seven randchildren.
