 Online Marriage Form  Online Marriage Application (then come to the Clerk's Office to complete the process)


Marriage license applications can be purchased from the Coos County Clerk's Office.  You can complete the Marriage License application form online before coming to the office.  If you apply online, you will still need to visit the Clerk's Office to complete the license process.  Both applicants must be present to supply identification, take an oath and sign the license at the time we issue it.


  • Visit the Clerk's Office at least three days before your marriage ceremony and no sooner than 60 days.
  • Both parties are required to appear at the Coos County Clerk's office at the Courthouse in Coquille (250 N. Baxter St., Coquille, Or.)
  • Marriage Applications processed Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 11:30 am and 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm, except holidays.
  • Application is completed by the couple and an oath is issued.
  • Photo ID is required for both parties
  • No medical examination is required by the State of Oregon
  • Payment of fee - $50.00 (cash only)

Information required on license application:

  • Father's full names (first, middle, last)
  • Mother's full Maiden names (first, middle, last)
  • The states or foreign country in which all parents were born.
  • The name(s) the couple will take after the ceremony.
  • Social Security numbers
  • Previous marriage end date

Important information:

  • Regardless of whether you submit your marriage license application form online or complete it in our office, you must visit our office at least 3 days prior to your marriage ceremony in order to complete the application process.
  • A marriage license can be issued one day after the final date of a divorce.

Age requirement:

  • 18 years old or older
  • 17 years may purchase a license with parental consent. Consenting parent must appear with the couple and complete an affidavit of consent. A Certified Copy of applicants Birth Certificate and valid Photo ID of the consenting parent is required.
