PUBLIC NOTICE:  Due to the Coronavirus, the Clerk's Office is closed to the public.  Effective until further notice.


Marriage license applications must be completed online, then follow the below instructions to complete.

Due to the office closure caused by COVID-19 our office has changed the way that we process marriage licenses.  Please review your options below to determine how you will complete the process.

By Mail:

  • Complete the application online then mail us the fee $60.00 (money order only)
  • Include names of both parties and a daytime phone number with your payment.
  • Once payment is received, we will call you and review the application for accuracy.
  • We will then print, sign and mail your completed marriage license to you.
  • Once you receive the license you will both sign, date and initial the highlighted areas.
  • All instructions will be included in the packet.
  • Please take into consideration, mail time.  We process these daily, but with mail time, the entire process may take 10-14 days from the date you mail the fee to us.  Please plan accordingly.

In Person:  "Only under special circumstances approved by the County Clerk"

  • Call our office to schedule an appointment to complete your marriage application  (541) 396-7600.
  • Both parties will appear at the Courthouse in Coquille at your scheduled appointment time.
  • Call our office when you arrive, we will come out to escort you into the building.
  • Face coverings are required along with the use of the hand washing station at the entrance.
  • Appointments are scheduled at 4:30 pm or 4:45 pm  Monday - Thursday.
  • Fee $60.00 (cash only)
  • We only do in person appointments when there is not enough time to complete by mail.

 

PLEASE NOTE:  THERE IS A 3-DAY WAITING PERIOD IN OREGON, THE WAITING PERIOD STARTS ON THE DATE THE LICENSE IS PURCHASED (THE DATE THAT THE MONEY IS CASHIERED).  YOU MAY PURCHASE A WAIVER FOR THE WAITING PERIOD FOR AN ADDITION $25.00 FEE.
